چکیده

Abstract DairyMod is a biophysical simulation model of the dairy pasture system. It has been designed to explore dairy pasture management and incorporates the principal rotational grazing management strategies that are used in Australia. It also includes full treatment of the fluxes of water and nutrients in the grazing system, and therefore it also has utility in analyzing changes in resource condition in response to management and/or environmental variation. A principal feature of the model is its ease of use and intuitive, informative, interface.

The impact of realistic biophysical parameters for eucalypts on the simulation of the January climate of Australia

Climate models use broad definitions of vegetation-based biophysical parameters that may not represent the continentallyspecific nature of Australian vegetation well. This paper explores the impact on the January simulation of climate over Australia of this common simplification. First, we map the Australian distribution of vegetation types onto the default classification used in one high-resol...

A Bayesian model decision support system: dryland salinity management application

Addressing environmental management problems at catchment scales requires an integrated modelling approach, in which key bio-physical and socio-economic drivers, processes and impacts are all considered. Development of Decision Support Systems (DSSs) for environmental management is rapidly progressing. This paper describes the integration of physical, ecological, and socio-economic components i...

Spatio-temporal variation of wheat and silage maize water requirement using CGMS model

The Crop Growth Monitoring System (CGMS) has been applied for spatial biophysical resource analysis of Borkhar & Meymeh district in Esfahan province, Iran. The potentially suitable area for agriculture in the district has been divided into 128 homogeneous land units in terms of soil (physical characteristics), weather and administrative unit. Crop parameters required in the WOFOST simulatio...

Knowledge Discovery in a Dairy CattleDatabase ( Mining for predictive models )

Proper design of a breeding program has been an issue of primary concern in much animal breeding research during the last decade. Data Mining (DM) is a powerful paradigm for nding patterns that can be used to predict the productivity of progeny given information about their sire, dam and the environment. The more accurate the discovered patterns, the more genetic gain one can achieve in a breed...

Or and Data Mining for Intelligent Decision Support in the Australian Dairy Industry's Breeding Program

Dairy cattle mate-allocation is an important problem for the dairy industry. The problem involves the selection and the allocation of sires and dams with the aim of improving the breeding objective. In this paper, a description of the initial design of an advisory intelligent decision support system, currently under-development by the authors for farmers in Australia, is illustrated. The design...
